Death Wobbles - From humble beginnings to trophy fish

Our Death Wobbles have quickly become a leading lure in the stickbait industry, resulting in trophy catches not only here in Australia but all around the globe as well. Hand-Made from Mahogany Timber with through wire and a custom paint finish designed here in Australia these are certainly a lure to have in your Lure Roll. When designing these lures we wanted a lure that not only can be used as a stickbait but can be also used as a swimbait and a trolling lure.

These are designed to swim with an S shape action with a slow sink they are deadly for any species that will eat a stickbait. This unique action is what gave them their name the Death Wobble!

Action Technique

One of the most popular questions we get asked is how do we use the Death Wobbles and when should we use them. Death Wobbles are designed to be worked like a traditional stickbait, big swipes with a slack line before the sweep is preferred. This gives the lure the best side-to-side action possible and imitates a fleeing baitfish on the retrieve. This imitation is also achieved through the slow sinking weight of each model in the series. Death Wobbles have a unique slow sink so they are perfect for that subsurface level, they really come into their own on the flats. Anything you’ll find on a reef flat or reef edge will eat a Death Wobble.

They can also be retrieved fast, which works very well for fired up GTS and other pelagic species. Giving the lure not only a slow fall but also an ability to create a reaction bite. This versatility is why they are so popular with guys from North Queensland, greater Australia and around the world.

Our new range was designed in house in Byron Bay. When I designed these colours I chose not only colours that look great to a fisherman but also colours that are designed to catch alot of fish. These colours were tested on the GBR for months before production and once we were happy with a new range we take that range of colours to mass production! Our new range comes with a handful of amazing looking finishes with something in the mix for everyone and will be available for purchase this Friday at 5PM EST. Whether your chasing Kingfish in South Australia to Coral Trout and Giant Trevally in remote FNQ there’s something in this range for you.

90mm

The 90mm Model is first off the rank. Its unique style is not only a stickbait but also doubles as a slow sinking vibe. It comes into its own for species like Barramundi, Longtail Tuna, Coral Trout and much more. There are small enough to cast on BC and snapper gear which much them great for smaller pelagic species and inshore species as well. The first-ever fish caught on a Death Wobble was a Barramundi in a dam on the 90mm model!

120mm

Also, know as the Flats Weapon! The 120mm really comes into its own on the Reef Flats of the GBR. With a slow sink and the perfect size for all species, this lure has caught more fish on the GBR then any other stickbait on the market. The strong build makes it hardy and resistant to damage. As long as you don’t get smoked this lure will just keep performing trip after trip. The through wire is strong enough to tow your boat down the ramp so don’t be worried about your lure if you hook a 40kg plus GT the 120mm can handle it.

150mm

The ultimate size Reef Edges and bait balls, this model is built for pelagics, trout and kingfish. We’ve also found these sizes work great on the flats when those species just need a larger bait presentation. Built the same style as the 120mm but a longer profile this replicates the same amazing action in the 120mm but in a large size for bigger species. We’ve found it works best being thrown into large bait schools of fusiliers and slimie mackerel being cranked out like a fleeing baitfish. This technique is best when you find the topwater bite slows down during a tide change or the middle of the day.
