Missing At Sea has been part of the Australian fishing community since 2017. Under new ownership by Ron and Sam, we're writing the next chapter of this brand with fresh energy, genuine passion, and a commitment to doing things right.

Who We Are

Ron and Sam aren't just business owners - they're proper fishos. As the owners of Compleat Angler Cairns, they've spent years on the frontline of the fishing tackle industry, listening to anglers, testing gear, and understanding what actually works on Australian waters.

When the opportunity came to take over Missing At Sea, it wasn't just a business decision - it was personal. They saw a brand with incredible potential and a community that deserved better. So they stepped up.

Ron

Ron grew up with a rod in his hand and never really put it down. He’s fished everywhere he possibly could from the Kimberleys and Broome to Kakadu, Exmouth, Ceduna, the Gulf, and just about every remote corner of Australia. He’s even ice-fished through Canada. If it swims, he’s chased it.

He’s been in the tackle industry for more than a decade, and anyone who’s met him knows he lives and breathes this stuff. His favourite species to chase is marlin and barra and the dream fish sitting at the top of his list is a sword.

At MAS, Ron is the one pushing product development forward, testing gear, breaking gear, fixing gear and working directly with anglers to bring better, smarter, progressive products to the table. He’s the practical brain behind a lot of what’s coming next for MAS, and he’s the bloke who won’t sign off on anything until he knows it actually works on the water.

Sam

I grew up riding motocross competitively and when I wasn’t doing that, I was fishing. I’ve owned and operated businesses for almost 20 years, and I’ve spent the last eight working closely in the tackle industry.

My favourite place in the world to fish is Broome. Chasing sailfish, fishing the inshore systems, getting stretched by big mulloway.

At MAS, my role is to look after operations, customer experience, communication, and making sure orders, systems, and processes actually function the way people expect them to. I’m here to steady things and bring MAS back to something reliable, transparent, and organised.
